Most devs are not underpaid due to a lack of talent.

They are underpaid because they think like juniors for years.

They expect:

– the manager to tell them what to learn

– the company to raise their salary

– the market to “recover”

Spoiler: no one is coming to rescue you.

Devs who earn well do uncomfortable things that others avoid:

  • They learn without permission
  • They talk about impact, not stacks
  • They prepare for interviews even when they don’t want to change jobs

Code does not make you valuable.

Solving expensive problems does.

And no, this is not “toxic mentality.”

It’s how the market works, whether you like it or not.

If you’re at that point in your career, you know where to find me.
