Alejandro started studying Computer Science with scholarships of only €300 per month. He worked with open-source but the salary was very low, just $18,000 annually.
He worked for Spanish companies doing open-source for clients like Telefónica, Vodafone, BBVA. He traveled to Brazil, Chile, Mexico, and managed to increase his salary to $40,000.
Following his passion for open-source, he created his own free software development company. Although he billed more than $1M USD in 8 years working on 500 projects and building a team, he lacked key business skills. He worked many hours, reached 110 kgs and after all those years he only had $100,000 in the bank and a salary of $1,000 per month.
He moved to Silicon Valley. He conducted 1,000 interviews at 100 companies and got several offers at Yahoo, Splunk, MachineZone, Thomson and Router. He accepted an offer at Splunk and his salary increased from $40,000 to +$200,000 annually.
He joined Adobe and increased his salary from $300,000 in 2017 to $600,000 in 2021. He helped grow more than 100 Software Engineers in Silicon Valley. He obtained the O1 visa for extraordinary people in the United States.
He managed to reach a salary of $1 million per year at Microsoft (LinkedIn). He was able to earn 1 million dollars while traveling to more than 15 countries. He wrote the book "Cracking the DevOps Interview" to help others.
He became an American citizen, completing his transformation from Spanish engineer to Silicon Valley professional. After 10 years, having done +1000 interviews and having visited 65 countries, he created EngineerGame: a framework to "hack" your professional career in the technology sector.

After going from earning $18,000 a year in Spain to $1 million a year in Silicon Valley, I realized there was a clear pattern in my success. It wasn't just luck or natural talent, but a specific framework that allowed me to multiply my salary almost 10 times.
EngineerGame was born from my real experience: having done more than 1,000 interviews, having worked at Microsoft, Adobe and Splunk, and having helped grow more than 100 engineers. I wanted to share this knowledge so others wouldn't have to go through the same mistakes I made.
This program transformed the way I approached job searching and daily work performance, providing a long-term strategy and a proven method that allowed me to stand out and have an advantage over other candidates, with the added benefit of having a mentor who provides invaluable insights, making two jumps, first to Workshop and now to the US with Datadog from Madrid.
It helped me discover the current landscape for software/data engineers, negotiate opportunities and achieve my goals. The experience, energy and positivity of the program have been invaluable for doubling my salary and feeling confident in my professional career evolution.
The best thing is the community. Thanks to the Engineer Game program, I have managed to get a broader view in my career as a software engineer, expand my network and improve my performance in interviews to secure my dream position in San Francisco with positions at Ebay, Walmart and now a 242k position at Google.
With 4 years of experience as a software engineer and while studying a master's degree in the United States, I was looking for job opportunities in Silicon Valley. Thanks to the mentoring, I was able to optimize my profile and stand out in interviews. In a short time, I secured an offer at Meta with total compensation above $190k.
I share with you a great achievement for me, the first of many thanks to this incredible program in confidence, direction, accurate hits and a critical vision of branding. Today I move from 35k to 100k joining the 100k group, I started this week at Mercado Libre as Data and analytics Engineer.
I got 3 job offers above 115k + bonus from Malaga for companies like Homa, Superbets and Stream, thanks to improving my visibility and personal brand apart from interviewing for companies like Meta, Google and Datadog.
I want to tell you that I accepted an offer with Kraken as Sr Backend Engineer increasing my TC above 50% after Paypal. This achievement is thanks to you and the community. Now to take advantage of the momentum and play EngineerGame long term.
I was able to secure different offers with Meta and Google, in the end thanks to Alejandro's help and the program to negotiate I decided to accept with Google and I was able to raise my compensation to 700k.
I have been a bit absent but I wanted to share with you that I received an offer with Nvidia as Frontend Engineer, when I entered Engineergame I was unemployed and felt that depression was going to eat me alive, shortly after I found a job with a decent salary, but Alejandro always pushed me to keep looking for something and show a better version of myself in each interview. Now it's going to be much more than double and I want to thank Alejandro and the program for all the support and inspiration in this process.
