One of the things I value most about being a developer is flexibility.

The ability to design your life differently.

Thanks to this career, I have been able to travel to over 65 countries, live 7 months in Southeast Asia, spend time between Spain, Asia, or the USA, and now be in the Dominican Republic for two months without having to stop working.

But flexibility is not just geographical.

It’s also financial.

Being a developer has become an important pillar in my life because it has allowed me to:

— build economic stability

— invest in real estate

— invest in the stock market

— create my own projects

— and have real options.

For me, that is true flexibility:

not depending on a single path.

And something important:

This works for me.

It doesn’t have to be everyone’s goal.

There are developers who want stability, a fixed city, or to grow for years within the same company.

All of it is valid.

But many times we forget something:

Programming doesn’t just change your job.

It can change how you design your life.

If you’re looking to take the next leap in your career as a developer, I’ve left something that can help you in the first comment.
