Your time is money.

Your time is money.

And all the time you give away in your work as a developer doesn’t come back.

Let me show you below.

Let’s do some math.

Hourly Rate (approx.)

$50,000 per year

  • 40 h/week → $24/h
  • 5 h/week → $192/h

$80,000 per year

  • 40 h/week → $38/h
  • 5 h/week → $307/h

$100,000 per year

  • 40 h/week → $48/h
  • 5 h/week → $384/h

The difference is not the salary.

The difference is how much your hour is worth.

That’s why it’s not the better developer

who responds for 8, 10, or 12 hours a day,

but the one who solves their work in 1 or 2 hours.

And yes:

those who choose better where to work earn more,

not those who give away the most hours.

Being a good developer is not about being busy.

It’s about being effective and strategic.
